Wayland police officers were called to Rice Road shortly before 9 a.m., where large swastikas had been painted in two separate spots, according to Wayland police.
“There is no place for this kind of hatred and bigotry in our community,” said Acting Police Chief Ed Burman. “Every resident deserves to live their life free of harassment and hatred, and we will do everything in our power to support our community.”
The Wayland Department of Public Works cleared off the paint.
The Wayland Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
Burman has also contacted the Anti-Defamation League New England.
Anyone with information is asked to call Wayland police at 508-358-4721 or the anonymous tip line at 508-358-1726.
